Since the dawn of time, lovers have been professing their love for each other with roses. For centuries the rose has been the symbol of true love, admiration, beauty and perfection, as well as a gentle and noble spirit.
The subject of many myths and legends, the meaning we give the rose today comes from Roman mythology where the Rose of Lovers was the sacred flower of Venus. It has maintained this value over the centuries and has become an expression of romanticism and the deep and passionate love for a special person.
But the rose is not only a pledge of love, it is also used by different cultures around the world as a gift and ornament for special occasions, most importantly, Valentine’s Day.
We at Salvadori have created the Rosa Moceniga Collection with the hope and desire that our jewels will be a sincere and pure gift to show your loved ones just how much you love and cherish them.
The inspiration for this particular collection comes not only from the intrinsic meaning of the rose, but also from the special nature of the Rosa Moceniga, a flower with an ancient history and mysterious origin. It arrived in Europe from Central China, and appeared for the first time in the rose gardens of the Venetian hinterland in the middle ages and today it still grows spontaneously and wildly throughout the Italian north-east.
Its special features make it precious and rare. What mainly struck us when creating a collection dedicated to this flower was its unusually elegant and refined spontaneity. The silvery pink reflections make the petals look like a sweet velvety mantle, giving it a regal and simple look, essential for the creation of these jewellery pieces.
Each jewellery piece is entirely crafted by hand, which makes each piece unique and different from the others. The petals of each flower are carefully crafted focusing on every last detail. Each one is engraved by hand with the typical veins of the Rosa Moceniga, making them a cradle worthy of holding the carefully selected precious stones set by hand.
The jewellery pieces of this collection come in two versions, white or pink gold, with a heart embellished by a central extra-pure, internally flawless diamond, or a yellow sapphire from Ceylon.
