Emeralds: magic stones!

5 September 2017

Since ancient times, many myths and legends have been associated with the Emerald, which was believed to have magical and mystical properties. To the ancient Egyptians and later the Romans, the Emerald symbolised beauty and the rebirth of nature. They believed emeralds would bring love and good luck to whoever wore them.

The South American Incas and Aztecs instead believed that emeralds were sacred. According to some Peruvian legends, the indigenous people worshiped a giant emerald, a symbol of the “Goddess of Chasity” and protector of young women.

Asia was also fascinated by the mystical charm of these precious stones. In ancient Hindu sacred scriptures, the emerald was revered as having physical and emotional healing benefits. For Buddhists, the emerald is considered one of the “seven treasures” and it is still believed to have the power to banish evil spirits and demons and to overcome fears and phobias.

In magical traditions, emeralds have always been associated with the element of water and with emotions and feminine energy. In Oriental philosophies, these precious stones are also linked to the heart chakra.

The magic of the emerald is found in our Lagune, an emerald ring with an intense colour and rare beauty! This ring features an octagonal-shaped Columbian emerald of 4.05 carats set in a platinum frame with two carré-cut diamonds of 0.66 carats and eight diamonds of 0.06 carats.
