Diamonds encounter the Salvadori Diamond Atelier

3 8月 2016

With a history of over 160 years, Salvadori, a member of the most important World Diamond Bourses of Antwerp and Tel Aviv, is the silent guardian of this magnificent gem: the diamond.

The Diamond Bourse has a strict set of rules to which all members must adhere. They are based on the principles of commercial integrity and professional knowledge.

A diamond undergoes a long and difficult process before it can be worn. It all begins in the Diamond Square Mile District of Antwerp, a maximum security facility where more than 75% of the world’s production of rough diamonds and about 60% of polished diamonds arrive. Salvadori buys diamonds of any calibre to make its creations.

To become such, the Salvadori Diamonds must meet high quality standards. First and foremost, they must have an excellent cut in order to provide the best return of light.

Salvadori only purchases D, E, F, and G coloured diamonds, internally flawless or VS. Each diamond is accompanied by GIA and HRD certificates, the only ones valid and recognised throughout the world.

Once purchased, the diamonds arrive at the historic Salvadori atelier in Venice where the processing begins: from the design of the jewellery piece to the creation of the metal setting. All these steps can last for up to a year, before the jewellery can shine “like skilful seducers, in the windows of the Atelier…”
